back to today's episode of Everyday Truth as we continue our study of a very impactful book, at least in my life, the book of Galatians.

And we are in a part of the book where we're talking about what it means to live in victory,

what it means to live the spirit-filled Christian life. And you're going to find that all

throughout the epistles. I think about

Ephesians 5, where it talks about be not drunk with wine, but be filled with the spirit of God.

So just as wine, as an intoxicant, can be taken into the physical body and make us do things that we would not otherwise do.

A drunken man, maybe normally would be quiet but becomes loud because he's drunk,

or maybe normally would be very careful. Think about driving. And yet now is very erratic.

Why? Because the wine, the intoxicant has made him

behave in a way that he would not and maybe even could not otherwise behave. So in that sense,

don't be drunk with wine, but be filled with the spirit. So just as physically, wine can negatively control you to do

things that you don't want to do, so spiritually, the spirit of God in our life can cause us to do

the things, enable us to do the things, inspire us to do the things that we would not otherwise do.

So we need the fullness of the spirit in our life.

We need to allow ourselves to be controlled by the Spirit of God.

So as believers, we are indwelt by the Spirit of God at the moment of salvation.
