Today we are going to talk about two of the most important verses in all the Bible that foundation our theology.

0:10.5

Two misunderstood verses. Our Catholic friends have taken these verses, in my opinion, way out of context and built some really bad doctrine on them. But the Bible's clear,

0:23.2

and these verses are powerful, and I want you to see them today. Welcome to Everyday Truth with

0:29.2

Kurt Skelly. We believe the Bible is true and relevant to everyone, everywhere, every day.

Honestly, people drop in all the time because we're right off of I-95, just south of D.C., just north of

1:48.5

And Peter spoke for all of them, and he said, you are the Messiah. You are the son of God.

1:54.1

And Jesus said, you are correct. And that is something that the father himself has revealed. So I can't be more true than that.

2:03.5

But the chapter isn't over because now Jesus takes this new information or at least this

2:10.1

solidified information in their mind and expands upon it and talks about what their future role will be and clarifies even what his

2:24.5

ministry will look like. I mean, you're the Messiah. You're going to set up a kingdom. You're

2:29.1

going to rule and reign. We're going to rule and reign with you. That would be what they would think

2:33.7

because that was the conception of what Messiah would do.

2:37.7

And by the way, that is what Messiah will do.
