Hey, friends, welcome back. As we said, we're in Matthew chapter 15, and we're in verse

number 10 today. Jesus is dealing with some criticism, which was not unusual in his ministry.

People are attacking his application of scripture and telling him that his disciples are

wrong because they don't wash their hands in a ceremonial way before they eat bread. And Jesus is going

to the deeper issue. He's going to the application of the command of God itself. He's going to the

really the heart, what is the heart of the command of God itself. He's going to the, really the heart, what is the

heart of the issue, and why do we do what we do? And those are important and probing questions.

And today, we're going to talk about that a little bit more deeply because Jesus does.

So look at Matthew 15 and verse 10, where he calls the multitude. So get the

picture. He's being challenged by these religious elitists who have come from Jerusalem, and he has

just vested them in argument and called them out for their hypocrisy. But now he calls the multitude because he

wants to teach them based upon this attack he's received from these religious leaders. And he
