Hey gang! It's time for a nother poison punch segment and today, we're talking all about PROTEIN! It's everywhere and in everything. BUT WHY? Why do we need protein in our cookies? Or in our chips? Diet culture is profiting on the assumption that protein = healthy and while protein is a very important piece of our diets, it's not as simple as more protein makes something "better" or "healthier". So today, we're trying some food that is JACKED and PUMPED full of extra protein to unpack the marketing, the taste, and if protein everything is all it's marketed to be.

Poison punch. It’s toxic. It’s everywhere. And it’s making us all sick. It’s the diets, the weight loss teas and programs, workouts, and superfood powders that say they’re selling health. Or the supplements, creams, prescriptions, makeups, treatments, and procedures that promise to make you look younger and yield you, unconditional love. And it’s all the apps, pop-ups, fads, people, retreats, and goop that cost a fortune but guarantee a better version of you. Poison punch is the 70+ billion dollar industry that profits off you looking in the mirror and thinking, “I’m fat, old, tired, and ugly”.

Poison punch is everything you're being told and sold to fix problems that (spoiler alert!) don’t actually exist.

There’s no way in hell the diet and beauty industries are going anywhere. Poison punch is here to stay. And while we might not be able to rid the world of poison punch, we can change our relationship to it.
