And on this episode, we're joined by Todd Sherman and Renee Richie, who are both employees at YouTube.

The questions that we asked them were gathered from all of you across YouTube, Twitter, as well as from our subreddit.

That's R slash Colin and Samir. And we ask them questions across a variety of topics,

starting with how does it work? How does shorts monetization actually like function? Then we talk about

how to succeed on YouTube shorts, how to find some viewership. We go over some of the myths that

people have about the algorithm as it pertains to shorts. And lastly, we just talk about the YouTube

ecosystem in

general. Where is YouTube heading now that they have shorts? If we didn't answer a question that you

I'm Todd Sherman, the product lead for YouTube shorts. What that means is I sort of guide the strategy of building shorts. That informs the roadmap. And then I have the core team that builds out the experience. That's like the playback experience, recommendations and the creation tools. But it's really collaborating with like tons of teams across YouTube. So that's my job.

You are Mr. Shorts. I don't refer to myself as Mr. Shorts. Yeah, but we do. But we do.

And Renee, your role at YouTube. I'm the creator liaison, which means that I advocate for, I help advocate for

creators inside of YouTube. So I take all the feedback that people like you that other creators

give. And I sort of put it together and I talk through new features and communications and all

those things, just so that there's a lot of empathy for creators and a better understanding

for creators inside YouTube. And then externally, I help educate creators

so that they have less stress and just more success on the platform.
