you note that organizing is more than holding a megaphone at a rally.

So you realize that at some point, all of the energy that's put into defending a position,

expressing an opinion, pushing a narrative has to rest on something,

and that something oftentimes is what you're hearing

from people's experiences and their stories.

What makes for that successful organizing in that vein?

How do those pieces come together for you the way they have?

So, you know, because I was raised so young in the

movement, I am a grassroots organizer, like a door-to-door person. I guess I use my social media,

and I'm grateful that so many people follow me and look for messaging every day, which I try to do

a good job of maintaining that. But what gets me clicking and gets me moving is listening to the real life,

real life experiences of people that I see everywhere.

So I'll give you just an example.

You know, we moved to Kentucky for the Brianna Taylor fight because it was during a pandemic. In fact, my mom,

who is an advent dancer, my mother used to be the dance instructor for seven different dance

classes in her community. She had a stroke in March of 2020. It paralyzed, which now is much better, thank God, but it did

paralyze her left side. And so she, you know, doesn't dance anymore in that way. She still's

out there, but it's a total different thing, as you can imagine. So when she came home from the

hospital, the country has shut down. She doesn't know what the hell. She, when she came home from the hospital, the country has shut down.

She doesn't know what the hell.

When she was awake earlier in the day before the stroke happened, the world was normal.

When she woke up from the coma, the world was shut down.
