Since I was a little kid I was always fascinated with not just my own origin

0:04.5

you know which is the only story you come into but the universe and what is the

0:08.1

ultimate potentially the ultimate origin story of all which is how did

0:11.2

everything come to be to say what happened on the Tuesday before the Big Bang

0:14.8

that may have an answer for the first time in history by technology that my

0:19.1

colleagues who are far smarter than I am are helping to build via what's called

0:23.2

the Simon's Observatory. Going to Mars is fundamentally I believe and

0:29.2

an escapist you know kind of fantasy. Do you think it's pointless? Is there anything

0:33.9

for us on Mars I guess is what I'm asking. Well so there's something for us

0:38.4

right the question is is that worth the price you'll have to pay. There's a

0:42.6

famous quote by one of my heroes Richard Feynman he said science is the

0:47.2

belief in the ignorance of experts not the wisdom not the knowledge of

0:51.6

expert but the ignorance of what the hell are you talking about? Feynman was a

0:55.3

genius. Feynman was a genius. Yeah they were genius because they doubted what

1:00.3

came before them. Science has never settled.

1:12.2

Hello and welcome to Trigonometry. I'm Francis Foster. I'm Constantine Kissen. And

1:17.8

this is a show for you if you want honest conversations with fascinating people.

1:22.9

Terrific guest today is a cosmologist which as he just told us is a branch of

1:27.1

astrophysics professor Brian Kissen. Welcome to Trigonometry. Wow it's a great

1:30.4

pleasure and honor to be here guys thanks for listening. It's great to have you on

1:33.4

the show before we get into everything to do with space and everything that's

1:36.8

out there and not out there. Tell everybody who are you how are you way you are
