Hello everybody and welcome to the WDW Radio Show, your Walt Disney World Information Station.

I am your host Lou Mangelo and this is show number 215 for the week of March 27th 2011.

This is an exciting year for the Disney community with the introduction of new attractions, resorts, destinations and special events.

Some of those events include those held by and for D23, the official community of Disney fans.

This may they'll celebrate the 40th anniversary of Walt Disney World with destination D and a companion scavenger hunt.

Later this summer the D23 Expo returns to Anaheim, California.

This week I welcome in Jeffrey Epstein, the Disney geek from D23 to learn more not only about him but some of the history of D23, some upcoming special events, what's new and what's next.

On March 10th 2009, the answer to the cryptic question asked by Disney to its fans of RU-23 was revealed in the form of a press release and news conference, a brand new website and the launch of the all new D23, the official community for Disney fans.

And the reaction to the announcement was as quick as the speculation that preceded it and many Disney enthusiasts like myself were quick and proud to become first day members of this new club because not since things like the Mickey Mouse Club was there anything where Disney enthusiasts could come together other than the unofficial Disney communities online.

And I think they didn't mean to replace but weren't to compliment what was happening and it started out as a club but it's grown over time including events both large and small informal gatherings entering the social media space and a new video series.

And because of those videos, the sort of unofficial face of D23, the man behind the magic is my next guest. It is Jeffrey Epstein, the Disney geek, Jeffrey, welcome to the show.

I had a lot more written just to sort of, you know, embellish my love for the geekdom that is Jeffrey Epstein but we'll get to that later.

Yeah, I mean, I've been fortunate to have met you at some of the events and over time and become friendly with you and really enjoy what you're doing there.

But Jeffrey, I want the people who only know you as the Disney geek to get to know the real Jeffrey.

I want to know the bad man behind the geek. Tell me a little bit about your background maybe growing up.

You know, were you a Disney fan early on as sort of a late commer to the Disney geekdom?

Lou, I was going to say I mean behind the man behind the geek is still a geek.
