Hello everybody and welcome to the WDW Radio Show, your Walt Disney World Information Station.

I am your host, Lume Angelo and this is show number 179 for the week of July 18, 2010.

Walt Disney World traces much of its roots to the original Disneyland in California.

And with July 17, marking Disney Land's 55th anniversary, it's only appropriate that we take a look at how some of Disney Land's origins have impacted Walt Disney World.

Jim Quarkis joins me again this week to share some true stories behind the stories,

as we start in Fantasy Land with Cinderella Castle and look back at exactly how and where Disney Land began.

And Jim is going to share with us not just stories that have never been told before, but Walt's own words that served as the proposal for what would become Disney Land

and include many amazing ideas that carried forward to become what we see today in Walt Disney World.

July 17, 2010, is going to mark the 55th birthday of Disney Land in California, and you say, well, that's great, Lou, but this is the WDW Radio Show, and we talk about Walt Disney World primarily.

But you have to remember that Walt Disney World's roots truly lie in Anaheim, California, and with Walt Disney, and with so much that was designed and developed for there.

So with the 55th birthday coming up, I started to think about that history, and it's ties to Walt Disney World, and maybe telling some of those stories that you might not have heard before, and how they affected what we have here in Lake Buenavista, Florida.

And as always, when we look to tell some of those, maybe untold stories, and the stories behind the stories, you know I need to bring in the one person that is able to tell them.

It was personal knowledge and experience and expertise, and that is of course our good friend, Mr. Jim Corcus.

And Lou, why is it, whenever I get pulled out for these things, it's either pouring rain, or like today, there's heat and humidity.
