So as the Magic Kingdom continues working towards the expansion of the central hub,

we're going to take a look at not just what's coming but the history of the hub concept going back to Walt Disney.

We will discuss how the hub came to be in Disneyland, then later replicated in Walt Disney World,

the reasons why it was created and why it works so well as the changes that have taken place in and around the hub since 1971.

I'll then have the answer to our last Walt Disney World trivia question of the week and then pose a new challenge for your chance to win a

In February 2014, Disney officially announced major changes coming to something in Walt Disney World that has,

for the most part, remained unchanged in its more than 40 year history.

No, it's not an attraction, per se, restaurant or resort, it's actually the Magic Kingdom's central hub.

And right after the announcement, guests began to notice work on a project that's going to make the hub at the end of Main Street USA even better.

Disney's adding a lot of new elements to the area, including gardens, additional pathways, expanded restaurant seating, and even a special viewing area for fireworks and other shows.

Work's going to be ongoing through fall of 2015, but I thought it might be a good time to not just take a look at what's coming but take a look back as well.
