Summary

It can be challenging for husbands to know exactly how to best support their homeschooling wives,. My husband and I thought we would share our own story and important principles to keep in mind that will help direct how you can best support your wives!   Things to keep in mind that God says in his word are important: 1 Peter 3:7-In the same way, you husbands must give honor to your wives. Treat your wife with understanding as you live together. She may be weaker than you are, but she is your equal partner in God’s gift of new life. Treat her as you should so your prayers will not be hindered. Ephesians 5:25-For husbands, this means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. He gave up his life for her Colossians 3:19-Husbands, love your wives and never treat them harshly. Love language quiz Love Nudge App Personality Profile

So hey everyone. We are Daryl and Dorenda Wilson. We've been married for 30 years. We have eight kids.

They're ages 15 to 29. Just to give you a little bit of background on our marriage. He likes me to

0:24.8

preface this because it's kind of funny and humorous that I married a 28-year-old OCD control freak

0:34.8

bachelor. That is the truth. That is actually what happened. So he wanted two

0:40.1

children. I actually was a 21-year-old nanny who secretly wanted 10, but I did not tell him that.

0:48.7

I tell everyone that we compromised at eight. So we have eight children.

Their ages are 15 to 29.

1:01.8

From the beginning, before we even had kids, I think before we were even married, we knew we wanted to homeschool our kids.

1:03.5

So that was helpful to kind of have that direction.

1:08.6

But one thing we didn't really think about was the ways that homeschooling

1:15.5

would actually impact our marriage. But we can honestly say that homeschooling has actually made

1:22.4

our marriage stronger, not without work, not without being aware of some things. And so those are some of the

1:30.0

things we're going to share with you today. So we're now 30 years into our marriage and 24 years into

1:35.9

homeschooling and we're still going strong, right? Right. We might be pooping out just a little bit.

1:49.4

Anyway, so it can be challenging for husbands to you know really know exactly how to best support their homeschooling wives so we thought we would

1:54.4

share our own story and some important principles to keep in mind that will help direct how you can best support your

2:03.9

wives. There is always that exception to the rule where a husband actually homeschools the kids

2:10.3

and the wife works. I've talked to several moms where that's actually the case, but I think

2:15.5

even in that situation, there are some things to glean from what we're

2:21.2

going to be sharing today. So the first thing I really want to say is, you know, we're Christians,

2:29.9

we're believers, and usually most pretty much all of our audience is. So I'm just going to be really up front

2:35.7

about the fact that the enemy really wants to destroy families. And I think it's super important for
