For 330 days, Mama and I sought the proverbial stone that we could turn over to save

you.

I am honest, and I say it's not that Hirsch was perfect, but he was the perfect son for me.

And I am so grateful to God. For 23 years, I was privileged to have the most stunning

honor to be Hersh's mama.

Truly heartbreaking eulogies yesterday from the parents of Hirsch Goldberg, Poland.

His body and the bodies of five other hostages were recovered over the weekend in southern Gaza.

Their deaths ignited massive protests across Israel, putting more pressure on Prime Minister

Benjamin Netanyahu to reach a ceasefire and hostage deal. We'll go through all of that in just a

moment. Plus, we'll bring you the latest from the campaign trail, as we are now just over

two months from Election Day.

I'm Jonathan Lemire. Thanks for starting your day with us. We have a lot to get to this morning, and we will begin this morning with the recent and heartbreaking developments out of

the Middle East, where on Saturday, the Israeli defense forces found the bodies of six hostages

inside a tunnel under the Gaza city of Rafa. Among them, 23-year-old American Israeli Hirsch

Goldberg, Poland. All six hostages were captured by Hamas on October 7th, five from the

Supernova Music Festival, and one from a kibbutz in southern Israel. A forensic examination

found that all six hostages were shot and killed

at close range. Executed. A spokesperson from Israel's health ministry says they were murdered
