with the news. The political crisis in Haiti is growing deeper after the assassination of the country's president just over 24 hours ago.

Jovenel Moyes was killed and his wife critically injured when officials say a group of highly trained and heavily armed assailants stormed his home in Porta Prince, speaking English and Spanish, and opened fire.

His wife is now being treated at a Miami hospital.

This video shows the scene outside of Mouisa's home at some point during the attack,

although we don't know who those people are.

The head of Haiti's National Police Force says four of the suspects were killed and two others were arrested.

Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere and was already in the middle of a political crisis.

They've had 15 presidents in the last 33 years.

Louise dissolved the parliament in 2020 and has since been ruling by decree.

He had also been resisting calls to step down from opposition

leaders who argued that his term ended this past February. He demanded that he serve out the

remainder of the year and threatened to amend the Constitution to give himself more power.

The country's interim prime minister, Claude Joseph, is now presenting himself as the head
