I'm Jonathan Lemire. Thanks for starting your day with us. We'll begin with the latest in that deadly mass shooting in Texas. There are now questions about the response by law enforcement after a

family member who survived the shooting says that he repeatedly called 911. The family says they

called 911 well before the shooting starting after their neighbor refused to

stop firing a gun near their house and then threatened them. About 15 minutes later, they say

the gunmen went into the house with an AR-15 rifle and opened fire on the people inside.

Ramiro Guzman told NBC News he was hiding in a closet with his wife and infant son during the

massacre, calling for help only to be told by the dispatcher that sheriff's deputies were already

there, but they weren't.

Guzman says the dispatcher would cut off the call and he would have to try again.

Eventually, he says he called his aunt, who lives nearby, to see if they would answer her

because he thought maybe the dispatchers didn't believe him.

He says deputies did not get to the scene until 30 minutes after they first started

calling 911, adding, quote, I wonder if they had come in those 30 minutes, this wouldn't have
