and we'll start with the news. Faced with a steep surge in coronavirus cases across the country,

President Biden is outlining new steps his administration will take to combat the new

Omicron variant. According to the president, new vaccination and testing sites will be set up nationwide.

The government will buy a half billion rapid tests and distribute them to Americans free of charge.

And 1,000 military medical professionals will be sent to help hospitals overwhelmed with patients.

Speaking from the White House yesterday, the President tried to reassure the public that the rise in

cases won't mean a return to the early days of the pandemic.
