Washington Governor Jayans, the longest serving governor in America is hanging up his hat that he has dawned for the past decade

announcing last month that he's not going to be seeking a fourth term to office.

A Democrat, Congressman Inslee was first seated in the House 30 years ago.

He emerged as an outspoken critic of former President Bush's war in Iraq in the early ats.

Decades later, Governor Inslee broke through as one of the parties' foremost leaders on climate policy.

A presidential candidate in 2021.

Inslee Platform promoted renewable energy, decreasing our nation's reliance on fossil fuels,

becoming a blueprint, really.

He laid out a blueprint for the Climate Spending Section of the Inflation Reduction Act that was eventually

signed into law by a Democratic president, Joe Biden last year.

That's why you can run for president, not win, and still have a lot of influence,

and in this case I think Governor Inslee did.

So, as the environment's top defender heading to greener pastures,

Governor Inslee joins me now a little bit of an exit interview of sorts and

you know I always think there's a little liberation when you make a decision that,

I'm not running for office next cycle. Do you feel that weight off your shoulders?

No, I actually, you know, by the way, listening to this, you know, you're trying to make me sound old I still feel young even that we even

with all those miles that you've described on me no I actually don't feel

different I still am engaged in giant efforts here and a variety of things.

I was meeting on a climate change issue yesterday with some impacted communities and

you know I you know my dad was a little track coach and he always said, look, you got to run through the tape.
