Sheila Jackson Lee can file up until December 11th

So she but the runoff is December 9th. I was thinking the runoff date was after the filing date because if it was she

would have to decide whether to file for re-election or not but she'll have if she

loses on December 9th, then on Monday, December 11th, until 6 PM, she can run for re-election.

Which is kind of coming full circle because Sheila Jackson Lee was elected to

City Council was sworn in as a city councilman and literally walked across to the Mickey Leeland

building where she filed the documents to run for Congress.

So that way she can still draw her paycheck and have her staff to help her campaign

to run for the 18th congressional district against Craig Washington, the incumbent.

So the question becomes what happens in this election.

It's very hard to predict because it's all a voter turnout model.

You can run a model that says Westside Republicans and Kingwood and Clear Lake show up and they beat her senseless because she's so incredibly

unpopular. I've never seen a person polled with this level of negativity.

Well of course that happens, right?

Not so fast. This is the part where you realize that some of our neighbors

are going to be part of Sheila Jackson Lee's campaign unwittingly.

And it goes like this, and some of you won't like to hear this.

Right now you have a choice between Sheila Jackson Lee and John Whitmire.

That's pretty clear.

You don't know a lot about John Whitmire.

You know a lot about Sheila Jackson Lee, but you're hearing from people that do know. Dan Patrick says he's good to work with. He's for Democrats, he's the best Democrat to work with in the Senate.
