Welcome back to the almost Friday podcast. Ladies and gentlemen, we're back at Emily Binder's

apartment where it smells rich. It smells like sandalwood. It smells like Christmas. It does

smell like Christmas is coming. Which is odd. You know what? You know what I've noticed?

And maybe this is just because I'm from dallas and so the weather's always

not great christmas has become a feeling it's become a feeling the way the wind hits my skin like right

now in l.a is how it feels in dallas when christmas starts coming around so it's warm but the

wind is cold on you and there's a different smell in the air.

You can feel it.

It's really become a feeling.

And I'm getting, it's weird, I'm getting nostalgic feelings out here, even though I'm

hundreds of miles away from home.

And then interesting.

Well, some sad nostalgia.

Yeah.

Some sad feelings.

Some not great feelings bubbling up. Slime, grime, goo, black matter, worming its way into the cracks of my brain. Shout on Mad Max. But that's me. I am him, the main character from Mad Max. You ever get sent some photos of you as a child from your family, your parents? And you look at him a little bit too long, and you go, what happened to that guy? Where do you go? I say, uh, my dad will do that,

like Halloween will come up and he'll send me photos and I go, I don't ever want to fucking see

this shit again. One of my eyes lose that light. What? There's a glow to me. There's some

sort of a glow around me. I never had that. I will say this seriously, though. You missed out on real holidays living in Dallas because you need foliage in the fall. You need snow on Christmas. We get a little bit of a fall. Yeah, but it's not. We get snow once every two years.

It's not like New England, though.

New England, it sucks, but you get the hardest holidays in the best way.
