Good evening, everybody, and welcome to a special edition of Warchant TV. This is a Warchant Town Hall with special guest, FSU chairman of the board, Peter Collins. He'll be along in just a moment. I'm joined right now by managing editor of Warchant.com. He's Iris Schofel. My name is Tom Lang, and we are convening on the Monday of a game week here on Warchant TV. Ira, how's it it going this evening? Good, as if there wasn't enough going on. We figured we'd have Peter Collins come on and talk a little FSU athletics with us. It's made headlines before this particular town hall. We'll see what's in store for us tonight over the next hour. I should point out before we get started tonight, Seminole boosters. You see that donation link at the bottom of the screen, a QR code. You'll see that throughout the program tonight in case you wish to make a one-time donation or recurring one. They like those two at Semino Boosters. The QR code will link you directly to that particular page. Tonight's format, Ira, it's going to be very familiar to these that we've done in the past, which will start with a one-on-one conversation with you and tonight's special guest, Peter Collins, FSU chairman of the board. That will go for about 15 to 20 minutes, maybe a little bit longer if the conversation holds. And then we're going to give way to the interactive portion of tonight's town hall program, which is your questions, if you're watching right now on Warchant TV. So provide

1:11.3

questions in the chat. I know there's probably an obvious one or two that are out there. We'll

1:15.1

do our best to get as much information as we can for you, but please file those away. We'll be

1:20.3

looking at those in the chat. Anything else, Ira, that you wish to preview before we bring on

1:25.1

the man of the hour. Oh. I'm ready to get going.

1:27.8

All right.

1:28.5

Well, without further ado, here he is. He is the chairman of the board at Florida State's board of trustees, Peter Collins. Welcome to the program tonight, Chair Collins. How are you? I'm great. How are you guys? Awesome. Thanks for coming on. Get ready to watch some football finally. This will be nice to get some new data for this season, won't it on Saturday after?

1:26.6

It's been a couple of years since we did this. Lots happened in a couple of years. Go ahead. I was going to say, did you watch much football this past weekend? I did not watch any football this last weekend. Wow. I've been doing a lot of traveling and I was actually catching up. I was in the

2:03.7

office all day Saturday and been gone a lot. So one of my daughters is home. And so I spent time

2:12.9

with my wife and one of my daughters this weekend. And it was great. It was a nice, quiet weekend.

2:17.4

But I watched a lot of golf, but I didn't watch any football good for to tmmy fleaude he got it off the schneide man and you feel for that guy you know just like rory went in the masters you've i'm a i'm a i'm a golf nut so uh it was great watching rory win the masters and it was great watching Tommy yesterday. Yeah, a nice little $10 million get off the Schneid moment for Tommy Fleetwood. Yeah, I mean, if you're going to win one, if you're going to win one, that's the one you want to win. No doubt. No doubt about that. And, you know, in this world that now we're navigating here in college sports, college athletics. Big checks are a big part of the talking points.

2:52.8

And I'm just wondering, as you said, Cher Collins, in the last year, year and a half,

2:56.7

there's been a whole lot that's happened as much as you're willing to share.

3:00.0

And then I'll step aside for you and your conversation with Ira about what your life has been like

3:04.5

as the chairman of the Florida State Board of Trustees and what the ride has been like that everybody knows of which I'm speaking,

3:11.4

as much as you're willing to share about what that's been like and if a memoir is coming at any point in the future after your tenure is over.

3:18.6

My wife, my wife might write a memoir because she's been like, you know, right there at every 11 o'clock phone call.

3:26.7

But no memoir for me.

3:31.0

It's obviously it's been interesting.

3:36.0

And I feel really good, you know, as I said a couple years ago, I feel really good where we're going,

3:41.6

and I feel really good where we are today. And it's, you know, it's, I feel, I feel good for what we did.

3:53.5

A lot of people don't understand the public nature in which we did it.
