American banks continued to report strong results with tariff turmoil yet to seriously hurt profits.

Bank of America beat first quarter forecasts, helped by record

stock trading. Profits rose 10% year-on-year to $7.4 billion. City Group also reported a 23%

surge in trading revenue. Goldman Sachs and J.P. Morgan Chase have likewise benefited from volatile markets,

but tariffs are clouding the outlook. Fees from M&A fell 3% at Bank of America.

Donald Trump suggested that Harvard University could lose its tax-exempt status after it became the first Ivy League institution to reject policy changes that his administration had demanded.

Harvard said the requests, which include screening students for anti-Semitism, tried to control its community and infringed on its

independence. Earlier, the Trump administration said it would freeze $2.2 billion of federal funds

for the university. China ordered airlines to halt deliveries of Boeing planes and purchases of aircraft components,

Bloomberg reported, in retaliation for Donald Trump's tariffs. The move puts around 10-737 max jets in limbo

and further weakens Boeing in China, where most orders go to its European rival, Airbus. Earlier, Ryanair and Delta

airlines warned they may delay orders of aircraft if tariffs drive up costs. America blocked a statement

by the G7, condemning Russia's deadliest strike on Ukraine this year, saying it wanted to keep

peace talks on track.

Ukraine's Air Force said Russia hit Sumi again on Tuesday.
