Good morning and welcome to the Independent Republic of Mike Graham right here on Talk Radio.

It is a freezing and snowy start to the week as we edge ever nearer to some more good news about getting back to normal.

After last week's predictions that the economy will bounce back strongly later this year, we're now hearing noises about more taxes for online businesses that have done

so well. Not the greatest idea anyone ever had. The whole point of this government is that

it gave away a load of money, which it didn't have. The whole point of this government is that

it always knew that they would have to try and recoup that money because they didn't have it in the first place to give it away. You see what I'm saying? But the answer is not to put more

taxes on people. The answer is to spend more money to boost the economy so that people get back

to work, people spend more money, the economy recovers and bobs. Your uncle, I've been arguing

this for a very long time. I don't expect the government to put a spanner in the works. We're also

hearing about a vaccine amnesty this morning that illegal immigrants who could register for a COVID

jab without risking anything else happening to them. Now, some people think there's about 1.3

or possibly 1.5 million people in this country illegally. I actually think this is a pretty

good idea because if people come to register in a local GP surgery with the promise that nothing is going to happen to, at least

we will finally know precisely how many people are here because at the moment I don't think the

home office has got a Scooby, if you know what I'm saying. We're kicking off this morning with a look

at the recent statistics with Jamie Jenkins, former head of health analysis at the Office for National Statistics. Things are continuing to head in the right direction, ladies and gentlemen.
