What's up and welcome in Tough Fantasy Baseball today on Wednesday, September 18th.

0:28.4

I am Frank Stample joined by Chris Towers.

0:30.9

Today on the show, we have potential waiver wire options for the final week of the season.

0:36.0

We have updates on five hitters who've recently returned to the majors, some early 2025 starting pitcher talk and much more let's jump in

0:45.9

can you believe it wow all right Chris you are up player night. And I said I would do Shane Boz, who

0:55.8

had a very good start.

0:57.2

He's a two-star pitcher this week.

0:59.3

Got the first one out of the way against Boston.

1:01.2

Seven innings, two earned runs two hits one walk six

1:04.8

strike out to 18 whiffs on 96 pitches and that feels like an especially big deal

1:11.0

for Boz because while he has pitched well for the most part this season and coming back from Tommy John surgery

1:16.2

The strikeouts and the whiffs have not really been terribly impressive and

1:22.2

I want to be more optimistic about this start because he had 18 whiffs and what was,

1:28.2

six strikeouts and seven innings, which is fine but not great, but the 18 whiffs, that's great. 10 of them on the four seamer on 26 swings that's really good.

1:37.6

Everything else is still kind of not that impressive five whiffs on 20 swings with the curveball. He was pounding the zone in this one 60% in zone contact rate and or in zone pitch rate overall for Shane Boz in this one and I

1:56.5

started him in my big Rota League this week with two starts. I'm happy that I did with this start. He's for the most part been quite solid this season, but when we're

2:07.8

talking about projecting for 2025, I still can't quite figure out where I'm at on Shane Boss because what we've seen this season is the floor looks pretty high right like he's managed a 321 ERA, the X ERA is right around 370, so not quite as good but

2:28.0

playable and that's without you know big strikeout stuff.
