This is CBS I on the world. I'm John Bachelor. The American people vote the pocketbook, but foreign affairs is the President's bailiwick and the Biden administration has a very vivid foreign affairs policy for different parts of the world now at war or potentially at war.

I welcome Josh Rogan. He writes global opinions for the Washington Post observing

the Vice President's campaign, Kamla Harris, and the Biden foreign policy. Josh, a very good evening to you.

The Biden foreign policy is complex.

In Ukraine as long as it takes.

In the Middle East, no wider war.

East Asia especially, networking with Manila and Tokyo.

Those are all vivid positions.

However, I'm not clear if the Vice President has adopted all of them.

In supporting the President, she certainly has, but for her campaign.

Can you clarify those three areas in particular? Is there, what do they call it is there is

there sunlight between them good evening to you well good evening John well you know

for the last three and a half years vice President Harris has been very careful not to put any daylight between her and the Biden administration's foreign policy for the very simple reason that she's part of the Biden administration.

And, you know, that was a position she was able to maintain

pretty well until the outbreak of the Israel-Hamas war in last October and ever since then we've seen sort of in public and

now in private now more in public that she doesn't agree with President Biden's

stance and she's pushing she has been internally and now more probably pushing for an adjustment

adjustment towards more pressure on the Netanyahu government more humanitarian aid for the

Palestinians and more pressure all around for a quicker ceasefire.
