the most far-reaching federal election overhaul in decades, killed before there was even a debate

on this crucial issue. Democrats needed 60 votes to move the bill ahead. They only had 50, which

would have been enough if Democrats agreed to gut the filibuster rules, but a handful of Democrats,

including Senator Joe Manchin and Senator Kirsten Cinema, are dead set against that. And with zero Republicans

back in the bill, its fate is sealed. Leading the opposition of a Republican, Senator Mitch

McConnell, who says nothing is wrong with America's voting system.
