I'm Megan McCurdy Carino. Artificial intelligence can accomplish some great things like speeding drug development or spotting early cancers.

But for the creative industries, the booming technology can often seem not so great.

With generative AI that can copy someone's visual style or clone their image or voice, many artists worry the technology, which trains on human work,

could drive those very creators out of business.

The BBC's Ben Dureko looks into the case of a couple of voice actors who are fighting for more than just their livelihoods.

This is Lenea Sage and her husband Paul Sky Lerman,

their voice over actors based in New York City.

A tech company stole our voices,

made clones of them, and sold them possibly

hundreds of thousands of times.

Last summer, they were in the car listening to a podcast
