But how did you come to your interest in Van Gogh?

It really began on 1967 when I was a 20 year old student that I'll give the

listener somebody to have my age. I'm 70 now, but I was living in Holland, a junior abroad student and I was able to see

Van Gogh paintings and drawings for the first time in the flesh having seen

them in art history books and all of that.

And the difference between seeing a reproduction and seeing a Van Gueo and reality is the difference

between night and day.

And I'd say my interest began there was the seed was planted and then while I was

serving in the military especially working as a psychiatric orderly, which I did during the Vietnam War,
