Greetings and welcome to a Friday edition of the shotgun start. It is April 30th, Andy. How are we doing?

I didn't expect to be saying this, but it's Victory Friday.

Fantastic. I'm so, so happy for you. I think like, regardless what happened in the draft, started out with a little turmoil up north, a team turmoil up north in Green Bay, just a complete mess.

Who knows if they'll ever recover? It was already a good day. Then you make waves. I mean, we are full disclosure recorded within 10 minutes after the Bears have just traded up to pick number, was it 11?

That they landed at?

11?

With the Giants, and they selected Justin Fields, a quarterback of Ohio State. How are you feeling? I mean, you signed on and you were screaming, throwing your hands in the air. What's your reaction?

I'm elated. It's hard to even put into words. I was in the gutter as a football fan. The Andy Dalton, Nick Fools, quarterback, Poo Poo Platter, that we had trotting out there in aging defense, a shotty offensive line.

We really didn't give much hope, and now we have hope. I'm dreaming already of actually having a real quarterback. Whether he turns out great or not, most have it turned out good for the Bears.

Our franchise is littered with disasters. Mitchell Chavisky didn't work out, but we have hope again, and hope is like all that you can ask for.

At the quarterback position, I'm just so elated. He's a stud. He's awesome. He's going to have a little chip on his shoulder for dropping to 11.

He seemed pissed when they showed him on TV. He seemed like he's ready to rock.

I think we're going to have a little situation similar to Mitch. You had Tray Lance and Zach Wilson go ahead of him, and those guys, they didn't, Mitch didn't play the games that Watson played.

You know, it's a very similar, eerily similar situation where these NFL teams maybe talk themselves into these guys, like Tray Lance didn't even play last year.

If Justin Fields doesn't play, he goes number two, probably. If he plays, and he had one of the best games of any quarterback in college football history in that season, they played against.

You know, it's just, I'm through the moon. I can't, I'm through the moon. I'm just so happy.

Through the roof and the moon. Yeah.

This, this, this day from my football fandom has really, has really been all I can ask for.
