Lexington Institute, to comment on the news from Venezuela. Nicholas

Maduro, the man challenged as the illegitimate president and dictator of Venezuela.

The depredations visited on his people have led to at least 7 million fleeing in these last years, now claims victory in the election with

51% of the vote.

So what we're looking at the

where Mr. Gonzalez, the opposition candidate, won approximately 69 to 70% of the vote. So what we're looking at here is that arithmetic.

However, what is to be done? The nation's coming forward,

recognizing Maduro's corrupt victory are critical to understand.

Rebecca, I begin with China, but Russia has commented both Mr. Putin himself through his spokesman

Mr. Pescoff and China through spokespeople at the foreign

ministry for Mr. Shee Jin Ping. Other players have entered in who are seen as subsets of those giants, that would be Cuba and Nicaragua

and Honduras. What is your measure of the significance of China getting involved in a corrupt

election that's being denounced around the world.

Well, of course, Russia and China don't care about free and transparent elections.

But because this one has raised so much international attention

and because it looks like the opposition party has a case to make you have to say that China is

really weighing in very heavily here and I think being you know very inappropriate

in in going with Maduro.
