Hey everybody welcome to another bald movie this is our Netflix edition as we took on the Netflix original movie Velvet Buzzsaw directed by Dan Gilroy starring Jake Gillenhall Ren Renee Russo, Tony Collette, among others.

Did you see Nancy from Stranger Things?

You notice her skulking about the edges of this production gym was she

cocoa yeah yeah huh I actually didn't recognize her but when you said it I'm like

okay Natalia direyer. Huh.

So it's kind of nice to see her before we get to see her again in true, or not true detective,

stranger things.

What did you think of velvet buzz saw?

I didn't really like the first 20 minutes of this. I think simply

because the people in it are so insufferable and maybe we can talk about that

a little later but I rounded out into something that I thought was a little more interesting than the first 20 minutes implied and also a little better.

I found that the further I got into this movie the more I was

enjoying my time with it. Yeah I think this movie has like three pillars three

legs that stands on one is is a satirical look at criticism, especially like criticism of fine art,

modern art. It works as a horror film and then it also has some kind of

Genuinely interesting thoughts on the relationship between a creator and creation and the creative process and the critical works that

that write on those foundations that and I thought that's like kind of like the first act of the movie is the more of the parity

the second act is more the horror film and the third act is more of kind of like the

introspection stuff but I had a really good time there is like Jake

Jillin Hall and Renee Russo and Tony Colette particularly are having a really

good time being kind of terrible shallow people and I love I kind of really liked

watching the wheeling and dealing and like the personal power politics being played by total assholes that I didn't care about for
