Ome. I'm Sri Ramakrishna used to tell the story of a washerman who found a diamond.

Remember this is the typical village, washerman in India who collects clothes and takes them to the river bed and

washes them, dries them out, scrubs them.

So he found this diamond and he knew immediately it was a strange kind of a stone, a rock.

But what good are rocks? The only small ones are meant for scrubbing clothes and the big ones are meant for drying the clothes.

And he started using that shiny rock to scrub clothes.

But one day he thought, this is a strange rock.

Let me ask my friend the vegetable seller.

He is wiser than me, he knows more.

And he goes and asks the vegetable seller.

The vegetable seller said,

oh, it seems to be a valuable rock.

I will give you a bag of potatoes for it or bringles for it.

Luckily, the washerman did not agree to that.

He went further and asked somebody wiser and wiser

until he went to the diamond merchant

who saw it and he said, this is amazing.

I have never seen a diamond so big in my life.

I'll give you 10 million rupees for it.

And the washerman, all his poverty was gone and he became rich and happy and so on.
