Varadaraja Vivi Rahman is a meritous professor of physics and humanities at the Rochester Institute

of Technology in New York.

He's lived and taught in the U.S. for four decades, but he was born into a Brahman Tamil

family in Calcutta in 1932 and educated in mathematics and physics in India and Paris.
