Tonight on Frontline, they're hailed as medicine's greatest triumph, conquering smallpox,

diphtheria, polio, and more.

If you look at vaccines over the past 100 years, they've increased our lifespan by 30 years.

And in recent years, some Americans have rejected vaccines, afraid they cause chronic disorders

from ADHD to autism.

My kid got six vaccines in one day and he regressed.

You don't have any science.

That the regression wasn't triggered by the six vaccines.

When we investigated the war over vaccines in 2010, there was a growing group of parents

choosing not to fully vaccinate their children.

Now the debate has erupted again.

A measles outbreak has been linked to the happiness we've had.

It's infected at least 19 people.

Parents here are more scared of gluten than they are of smallpox.

Our personal choices, putting the public health at risk.

70 cases of the measles.

At least 145 in 14 states.
