That was a lot of enthusiasm to talk about a game that was not that enthusiastic.

My name is Taylor Rockwell.

We are here to discuss the USM&Ts 2 to 1 loss to Canada in a friendly that at least

dozens of people witness firsthand.

All hail our new Canadian overlords.

One person who wasn't watching in person, but did spend their Saturday evening watching this match is the legend himself.

It's Mr. Graham Ruffman Graham. Was that a Saturday night well spent? Oh, I'll remember it forever,

Taylor, Taylor Rockwell, yes. There were almost as many people in my living room in Scotland

watching this game as there was in Kansas City.

So, yeah, that was quite something.

Graham, I know I was watching this, as I tend to watch US games, from an American perspective,

watching the US certainly more than I'm paying attention to Canada, trying to pay attention

to what Canada is doing, how they're playing.

I do think also for this game for the US, not having a permanent manager, I was less maybe interested in their tactics than I have ever been. But I think that does color the way I saw this game, why I enjoyed it so little for you, who's a little bit more of a neutral, though you are an honorary U.S. citizen. Was this game as bad as I'm making it out to be as bad as I will remember it to be? Or if you are, say, Canadian, was it maybe a little bit better?

I think from a US point of view, any time you lose to your rivals, particularly a rival that you've had a traditional dominance over.

We lost to Mexico? Oh, no. Well, exactly. This was Canada's first win on American soil, I think, since 1957 and only their second ever win on American soil. So that sort of highlights how this rivalry has closed up recently, because I think at this moment in time, Canada are just like a functional team. This wasn't a fluke. Their Coppa America run wasn't a fluke. This is just where they are as a team right now. And for various different reasons, which we'll get into, I think we got an illustration of where these two programs are at this moment and time through this game. But I can understand from an American point of view why this performance was frustrating. Yes, the US don't have a coach and that kind of colours everything.

A lot of their key players are also missing. There's just a general lack of enthusiasm around

the national team at the moment. And that was kind of illustrated in the crowd in Kansas City,

which usually sells out, right? That's why US soccer plays those games at Children's Mercy

Park. But look, I get it it's
