Hey there, from CNN. I'm David Rind with the five things you need to know for Friday,

February 6th. The high stakes indirect talks between the U.S. and Iran have wrapped up for the day in

Oman. CNN's Kevin Liptack is here. He's at the White House right now. Kevin, how did this all go today?

David, the American delegation hasn't said yet how these talks went, and heading into them,

there was a dispute about what exactly was going to be on the table.

The Iranians had wanted to narrow these discussions to just the question of their nuclear program.

But the Americans had wanted to expand the negotiations out to also include Iran's ballistic missiles and its support

for proxy groups in the region. Now, the Iranians have said that they have agreed to continue talking,

and that would appear at least on its surface to be a good sign. But remember, President Trump has

amassed a major military buildup in the region,

and he seems to want to show the Iranians that he's serious.

Included in the American delegation was Admiral Brad Cooper.

He's the head of U.S. military forces in the Middle East.

continue to plead for possible kidnappers to reach out to them with any information about their

mother. As authorities continue to pour over purported ransom notes, which authorities have not verified,

one of them was sent to TMZ. Its founder Harvey Levin described it to CNN last night.
