The White House says the Trump administration feels good about the prospects of a deal with Iran.

The Iranian foreign minister said Tehran remains committed to promoting peace after meeting a key Pakistani negotiator.

Today, press secretary Caroline Levitt said Pakistan would be the

likely location for a potential second round of in-person talks. She also pushed back on reports

of a ceasefire extension during today's briefing. That is not true at this moment. We remain very much

engaged in these negotiations in these talks. You heard from the vice president directly and the president this week, that these conversations

are productive and ongoing.

And that's where we are right now.

Meanwhile, for a fourth time on Capitol Hill, the Senate rejected a measure aimed at limiting

President Donald Trump's war powers for any future military action in Iran.

Also an Israeli source says Israel's security cabinet met today to discuss a possible ceasefire

with Lebanon.

It comes a day after the first direct talks between the two nations in 40 years.

Despite the talks, Israel and Iran-backed militant group Hezbollah have continued to exchange

fire.

More news coming up, including an update on another ceasefire that hasn't been in the headlines

The U.S. and Hamas held their first direct talk since the Gaza ceasefire.
