Welcome, everyone, everyone, to another edition of the Irish Breakdown podcast presented by Fandul.

0:25.1

This is our weekly upon for the review show, and we have reluctantly gotten into the film for Texas A&M,

0:33.9

and we have figured out kind of where we need to talk about today. And we covered a lot of it,

0:40.8

obviously, during the postgame show. But when you dive into the film and you kind of see some

0:45.2

things and where things are going and all of the things, you get a different perspective. And like

0:51.9

Brian always says, we either confirm kind of what we thought watching the game

0:55.7

and or we see some things maybe that we didn't see during the game.

1:00.7

We didn't really talk a whole lot about offensive line, things like that in the postgame show.

1:05.8

It's very defensive-centric for good reason.

1:09.4

And obviously we're going to talk about that here as well, Brian.

1:11.6

But, you know, a lot to talk about, I would say, after diving into the film, most of it not great.

1:19.7

But there's also some positives that we can take away from it as well.

1:23.9

Yeah, Vince, I was really hoping that after we watched the film that I'd feel better. And we'd see some things. And in some ways, I do and in some ways I don't. And when you look at some of the ways I do feel better, you're reminded, like, this isn't a talent problem. Like, are they, is elitly talented as maybe I hoped in a couple positions that you know we had been heard from

1:44.5

sources in the program oh they're going to be good here they're going to be good there no maybe not

1:48.7

but they're still way better than what we're seeing and and when you are looking like 2016 you

1:53.8

didn't know how many buttons are going to get pushed because you're starting guys on offense

1:57.7

and defense you're like this guy's just not very good. That's not the case for Notre Dame

2:01.8

right now. And that's still a positive. You know, you look at how well CJ Carr played. The skill

2:06.7

town on offense is every bit as good as we hoped it would be. I don't know that it's all being used

2:11.1

appropriately at the present moment, but it's, they're very talented. And some of the things on defense that are going wrong are things that we know they've been good before. So there's hope that you can fix it. And so that that's a frustration. But, you know, you then watch the film more and you realize Vince, you know, the offensive line, you know, people say, oh, that played well. No, it played better. There's a difference.

2:35.0

It didn't still, it didn't play well. And, you know, I'll have a further breakdown on the board for premium members that's going to dive into some of the issues they had in the run game. You know, they ran a ton of mid zone in this game. It's almost every play they ran in the run game was almost. This is maybe seven or eight non-mid zone plays just off top of my head. Maybe it was

2:54.6

nine or ten. But you've got a lot of catching going on. There's a couple plays near the goal line where Eli Raritan and tie Washington fire off the ball and get down the field and the left side of the old line is just like catching and just taking blocks the line doesn't move there was a lot of frustration in that regard and even some
