38-year-old Dona Mae Bayerl disappeared on May 6, 1979 after an argument with her husband, John. Back in 2018, we covered Dona Mae's story in a three-part series. In early 2019, John Bayerl was charged with Dona Mae's murder. John Bayerl was later convicted and sentenced to life in prison. In this update, we explore what happened after Dona Mae's episodes aired.

And he actually slammed his hand down on the table. Something to the effect of, you know, the women in his life had a habit of getting the last word. And that used to peve me off. And quite frankly, I found that, quote, chilling based upon, you know, some of the stuff that we were talking about.

38 year old Donna May Barrel disappeared from Mosquigo was consen on the evening of May 6, 1979. Her husband, John Barrel, told the police that the two had an argument and Donna May left in her car to cool off.

John said that he went to bed that night and later heard someone inside the house slamming doors. He assumed that Donna May had returned. Then he claimed to have heard a car turn around in the gravel parking lot across the street.

When he got up, he found Donna May's car in the garage, but she was nowhere to be found.
