Summary

Welcome to my devotional, Grace for a Mom’s Heart! Is it possible to be worshiping the "god" of education...even as homeschoolers? Find out what 1 Corinthians 1:18-31 has to say. It's so important as believing moms to stay grounded in God's word, so in the weeks ahead, I will be reading from my devotional Unhurried Grace for a Mom’s Heart-31 Days in God’s Word (available on Amazon *aff link)) Each devotional is less than 10 minutes long. I’ll start by reading a short scripture passage and then share some thoughts on how the passage applies to parenting and homeschooling as I read from my devotional. I'll then ask some questions to help you dig deeper. I'll end by praying over you! Printed copies of this devotional are available on Amazon for just $8.99 (*aff link)

The message of the cross is foolish to those who are headed for destruction.

1:04.4

But we who are being saved know it is the very power of God.

1:08.6

As the scriptures say, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise and

1:12.5

discard the intelligence of the intelligent. So where does this leave the philosophers,

1:18.5

the scholars, and the world's brilliant debaters? God has made the wisdom of this world look

1:25.4

foolish. Since God and his wisdom saw to it that the world would

1:29.2

never know him through human wisdom, he is used our foolish preaching to save those who believe.

1:37.1

It is foolish to the Jews who ask for signs from heaven, and it is foolish to the Greeks who seek

1:42.7

human wisdom. So when we preach that Christ was crucified,

1:47.2

the Jews are offended and the Gentiles say, it's all nonsense. But to those called by God to

1:54.3

salvation, both Jews and Gentiles, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God.

2:05.6

This foolish plan of God is wiser than the wisest of human plans,

2:10.4

and God's weakness is stronger than the greatest human strength.
