Summary
This week on the Active Self Protection Podcast we sit down with defender Bill and discuss the day his neighbor decided to challenge him to a fist fight and instead received a snoot-full of spicy treats. Then we sit down with investigative reporter Stephen Gutowski of thereload.com and discuss a recent success story involving a school shooter who (due to planning and preparation of school officials and others) never got through the front door of his intended target location.
Active Self Protection exists to help good, sane, sober, moral, prudent people in all walks of life to more effectively protect themselves and their loved ones from criminal violence. On the ASP Podcast you will hear the true stories of life or death self defense encounters from the men and women that lived them. If you are interested in the Second Amendment, self defense and defensive firearms use, martial arts or the use of less lethal tools used in the real world to defend life and family, you will find this show riveting. Join host and career federal agent Mike Willever as he talks to real life survivors and hear their stories in depth. You'll hear about these incidents and the self defenders from well before the encounter occurred on through the legal and emotional aftermath. Music: bensound.com

| 0:16.4 | All right, gang, let's talk about dry fire. |
| 0:18.6 | Dry fire is an important part of anyone's training regimen. We recommend you pick up the Manus Firearms Training System. The Manus X is a phenomenal little tool in your toolbox. Manus has been a long-time supporter of active self-protection, and we are super grateful for their support and their product. We found it to be so valuable in our own shooting work. You're going to get immediate, |
| 0:38.0 | measurable, visual feedback. They can take so much time at the learning curve of dry fire. And |
| 0:42.7 | this product is worth every penny in our opinion. What gets measured, gets improved. And this helps |
| 0:47.8 | you measure every aspect of dry and live fire. Visit them at mantis.com and let them know you |
| 0:53.6 | heard about them on the active self-protection podcast. Already gang, welcome back to the active self-protection podcast. I am yet again your host, Mike Williver and I remain your favorite, former Fed with us today. Another new friend of mine from Colorado. His name is Bill, is it Halliday? Is that pronounced it correctly? Halliday. Bill Halliday. He wrote in about an experience very close to home. And this is very |
| 1:14.7 | similar other than the outcome to one of the ones we had a while. I don't know if you saw the video |
| 1:18.1 | or heard the podcast, a man in Phoenix who had an ongoing issue with a former neighbor who was a |
| 1:25.2 | parolee, really bad dude, who he had tried to help out |
| 1:28.4 | and that guy stalking him. And our previous guest had to deal with him by shooting him, |
| 1:34.9 | unfortunately. And that was actually a highest rated podcast of all time. And it was a big one on |
| 1:40.1 | the main channel. So this is similar, but with a slightly better outcome all the way around. |
| 1:45.4 | So first of all, Bill, thanks for writing in. As I like to say, if it weren't for people like you, |
| 1:49.0 | there wouldn't be a show. So I appreciate you doing that and be willing to come on and talk about |
| 1:53.6 | your experience. So talk to us about your life before this incident. I know you mentioned that |
| 1:59.3 | you found active self-protection not that long ago, |
| 2:02.1 | or maybe you didn't say that, but you found out you watched a lot of actor self-protection videos. |
| 2:06.1 | Are you someone who is self-defense mighted generally? Are you a firearms carrier? Are you |
| 2:10.1 | training any kind of martial arts or anything like that? |
