And there lived the Baumeister family, who appear to be just your average well-off family.

Herbert Richard Baumister was one of four children and he was the oldest.

He was born on April 7th, 1947. His father, Dr. Hubert E. Balmeister was an

anesthesiologist and his mother, Elizabeth Balmeister, was a homemaker.

They provided a loving home with the essentials. However, Herbert or Herb, as he was called often, had early signs of troubled behavior, and it was often believed that his behavior was a red flag for what was about to come.
