Summary

Hannah Finch, of our Oxford community, always looked forward to married life and mom life. As the years crept by, however, she found herself decidedly single. Disappointment and sadness settled in her soul.

Hannah never expected the reality of singleness—in fact, she had bigger expectations of God, initially believing that if she did what God asked, He would deliver.

Listen as Hannah walks us through her important and profound journey of fighting for faith while living in singleness. It's what she stakes her life on these days—but no one said it's easy. Hannah gets honest about her big feelings and unmet desires, and proves that accepting how we are made is what allows God to meet us where we are.

Do you need to hear that God doesn't cause your disappointments, but is there when they happen? Hannah's story will do your weary heart some good.

In this episode, you will learn:

–Sometimes, even the good desires God gives you may remain unrealized.

–God is in control. He is on your side, and He is not holding out on you.

–You can trust God's heart even when you can't see His hand.

1:00.7

truly maybe one of the most vulnerable stories we've had. It really is, and I love having a younger

1:05.8

storyteller share her story as well. We all know that February is really the month of love. And while sometimes

1:12.8

it can leave you discontent because it's the month of love, whether you're single like Hannah's

going to speak about, or maybe you've gotten divorced or widowed, and it just brings you to this place

1:21.3

of vulnerability with your relationship with God in questioning him. And so really, Hannah's

1:26.6

story is not only a story about singleness, but it's

1:29.3

really a story of unanswered prayers of good desires. And I do think that her story is going to

1:35.3

remind you the importance of really redirecting your thoughts back to his word and really the

role that worship plays when the enemy attacks. So I'm so thankful for Hannah and for her

sharing her story. And Katie and Robin, I'm excited for our Patreon members because they are getting
