In a stunning shift in policy, the U.S. has joined Russia to vote against a UN resolution,

condemning Moscow's war against Ukraine. It put America at odds with its longtime European allies,

and came after French president Emmanuel Macron visited President

Donald Trump at the White House. Afterwards, Trump doubled down on getting a deal to end the

war with Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Macron said this.

We want peace. He wants peace. We want peace swiftly, but we don't want an agreement that is weak.

Joe, this is shocking to see the United States vote the same way as Russia at the UN Security Council,

but it is part of President Trump's pivot on the Ukraine war.

And what we're hearing from European partners in response to this UN vote is fear that this could be rewarding the aggressor.

The aggressor being Russia.

And you've also heard from European partners.

Yes, peace is needed in Ukraine.

But the terms of that peace matter and Ukraine must,

and European partners must be included in the process.
