Let's start though in Gaza where a UN-backed report says famine is imminent in the

north of the strip. Around half of Gaza's population is already facing

catastrophic hunger after five months of military

bombardment from Israel. Speaking at a Gaza Aid conference in Brussels, the

European Union Foreign Policy Chief Joseph Burrell went further saying famine was already

present in Gaza and Israel was provoking it. In Gaza we are no longer on the

brink of famine. We are in a state of famine affecting thousands of people.
