The Vladimir Zelensky was elected by a landslide in large part because Ukrainians were fed up with

corruption. The political novice of four years ago has been transformed into a widely admired

war leader. But now, nearly a year after Russia's invasion spurred the West in descending

billions of dollars worth of arms to Ukraine. Mr. Zelensky has begun a shake-up of his government

and security services to stamp out corruption. This follows recent reports of bribery,

inflated food prices, and one figure accused of living a lavish lifestyle.

Five regional governors and four deputy ministers and a top advisor have either been sacked

or jumped before they were pushed. Mr. Zelensky announced the changes in his nightly address.
