and CEO of Diamond Sixth Leadership and Strategy.

President-elect Trump, there is a record from the first administration.

However, there was much talk of settling the Ukraine conflict in a very short period of time with negotiations.

Jeff, all of this is talk. There's nothing written down. There's nothing that's happened yet.

What is your estimation of the ambition of Mr. Trump to settle Ukraine with a conversation?

Well, I guess with the Kremlin. There's no detail here.

No, there's not, John. He's made this statement over and over. They can settle it all in one day.

If you review the outline of a settlement that his running mate, J.D. Vance, talked about. It's

essentially the same proposal Putin has made and that is that

Russia would retain the four provinces they've claimed in the southeastern portion of the country

we would see a neutralization of ukraine's government probably mean a governmental change

and we would see a uh effort to no longer pursue uh nato the Ukraine. In essence, I would argue, you can

end it in one day if you're willing to surrender. And this looks like a surrender document.

Now, whether or not, again, Mr. Biden can accelerate military aid over the next 60 days for some

period of respite, whether or not the Europeans can

generate enough support amongst themselves to provide assistance to Ukraine. I think that is

very, very problematical at the moment. And your measure of the Defense Department under Mr.

Trump, any change, anything significant that you can flag at this moment, given we

have months to go for the Biden people? Well, I think two things are very important, John.

First of all, thinking about Mr. Trump broadly, he is a transactional person.

Cooperation is only essential as it gains leverage for you. Second of all, of course, any Europeans said to me when Mr. Biden was elected, is Biden
