This is CBS Eye in the World. I'm John Bachelor. Ukraine conflict more than a year.

And esteemed voices at the Institute of Study of War now identify for Kiev or Ukraine

three possible futures. One surrender negotiate. Minced to or whatever it takes with knowing

that there is something like a Marshall Plan to follow from the IMF, the World Bank, the

European Union and the United States to rebuild the part of the country that remains Ukraine.

That's the first option. Two, fight to stillmate more. In other words, the gun clubs that

are gathered along the front, the Donbass front can continue indefinitely with heavier

ammo and drones and missiles flying back and forth. But no great movement by either

by either force fighting the back move into 2023. And then three recommendation for Ukraine

to launch counteroffensives to oblige Putin to the negotiating table. I welcome Katrina

And someone very familiar with the Russian culture, the Russian world of fighting at length

and sometimes without success, but continuing for a much longer than you can imagine is

possible at the start of the conflict. Katrina, a very good even to those three options

are advanced by the Institute of Study of War. The first one, Ukraine's surrender and

counter on a Marshall plan. Is that credible? Well, there will need to be a Marshall plan

and some estimates are putting it, I think, at 310 billion, 400 billion at a minimum for

just a few months' time. But Ukraine's surrender, I don't see that because as long as the weapons

from the West and NATO forces are flowing in, though they may come in more slowly, there

will be a will not to shut down. I think it's important to remember, though, John, the

meeting last week in Moscow between Chinese leadership and Putin was interesting in many

ways, but it showed a kind of shift from West to East and a partnership, not a friendship
