Vladimir Putin unlikely to make a decision about Ukraine

until the 2024 election, another year.

An earlier story from Reuters repeated in the Telegraph and other places pointed to a report in Germany, DASBild, a very popular tabloid read by all of Germany, that Washington unnamed person and Berlin unnamed person putting

pressure on Keith to negotiate now, not later, because the perception is that the counter-offensive failed, winter is

closing in and that the manpower shortages such in Ukraine that nothing's going to get better in another year.

and these contradictory but at the same time suggestive stories.

I don't look for negotiation, but I do look for a clarity about where the U.S. is on Ukraine, where the US political voices on Ukraine, and

where our European allies are.

You're absolutely right in that the Biden administration seems to be urging

the government of Ukrainian president Vladimir Salinsky to sue for peace to go to the Russians and sit down at the table.

Before the 2024 presidential election, it's understandable why Biden wants this. It's understandable why his team wants this.

So Ukraine war has become more and more popular, both on the left and on the right in American politics.

The Gaza-Israel war is taking up a lot of the government's

attention and it's just a political problem for Biden at this point. There's

only two problems with that. One is that Putin won't do it and the other one is that Salinsky won't do it
