Ukraine crisis.

I welcome Katrina Vandenho, the editorial director and the publisher of the nation magazine,

to observe the changes in Ukraine crisis in these last hours.

Because we're told the President of the United States long reluctant to give permission to Ukraine

to use the full capability and strike range of the cruise missiles and other items of long range power.

To give that authority to Keef has now said in some fashion, Katrina, a very good evening

to you. This comes as a surprise to me. How did you hear it the first time and what did you think?

Good evening. In fact, I was reading several stories on my iPad about the escalating diplomatic efforts when I saw on the iPad a New York Times story, which stated that Sunday President Biden had authorized Ukraine's use of long-range U.S. provided missiles, missiles and strikes on Russian territory. In escalation, Moscow over the last

months, as you know, John has made clear risks, nuclear war. I thought also of how this is

handcuffing or trumping Trump's plan to end the war

through his diplomacy. But it's, you know, this is a very difficult situation because there's

clearly maybe no infighting inside the Biden administration that this was something on the agenda that there have been

as you know battles inside about but Ukraine can now if this authorization clears and things

move can use these army tactical missile systems attack them to strike deep into Russian territory

they have a range of about 100, 200 miles. And what's

stunning now is that the U.S. will now directly support strikes deep inside Russia. So the kind

of mirage or the story that this is a war, you know, a proxy war has now been stripped clear. It is a proxy war versus the U.S.
