This is the Friends Vistory Debating Society. I'm John Bachelor observing the war in Europe,

the global south, moving global north, the war in East Asia, underway in some fashion,

and all of this from the point of view of six capitals. We begin in Moscow as we usually

do. I welcome Professor H. A. Mackender and international relations to comment on these six

capitals, but also Warwick Professor included more talk of nuclear weapons. And this time we're told

Russia deployed nuclear weapons to Belarus, a sovereign state that is not part of Russia. However,

that was only one moment in a war fighting that is totally difficult to summarize because

of the Vogue of War in Ukraine. And sharp words in NATO all week including the visit of Yen

Stoltenberg, the Secretary General of NATO to Washington to visit with the President, who afterwards

said he'd asked Mr. Stoltenberg to stay on as Secretary General, no new Secretary General.

Thank you. Well, what's happened this week and last week is that certain sort of new clouds

are beginning to condense in this Vogue of War. And I don't think that any of them is correct,

but they are becoming the foci of international relations discussion. The first

is the idea that the United States and China are close to war. And the Chinese press

states that there's a sort of a sense on both sides that they've got to do something. Mr. Xi

has gone way out of the limb, although his army, apparently some of the officers are so

rotunded as they can't fit into the hatches of the tanks. It's not clear that China is really ready

to go to war. Their plan has always been with respect to Taiwan, which is their most,

they claim is their most important concern. The army doesn't want to try to do that. Someone

said last week is going to cost 1.4 million debt to which I think a lot of the Chinese respond,

well you send you and your family first because we don't want any of that. Remember the Chinese
