Hello from CNN. I'm Joe Beck, with the five things you need to know for Wednesday, February 26.

The U.S. and Ukraine have agreed on the terms of a deal over the war-torn country's natural resources

and reconstruction. That's according to a Ukrainian official and comes after days of negotiations

as part of wider talks to end Russia's invasion.

And President Donald Trump said he'll be happy to meet with his Ukrainian counterpart

Vladimir Zelensky.

Certainly it's okay with me if he'd like to, and he would like to sign it together with me,

and I understand that's a big deal, very big deal.

I asked CNN Salma Abdulaziz what we know. Yes, Joe, it seems at this time

that it's a framework and we haven't seen the details, but sources say that it will include a joint

partnership, a joint exploration of Ukraine's rare earth minerals and that a fund would be set up

with money that could go towards Ukraine's reconstruction

efforts. We are also hearing that President Zelensky will travel to Washington, D.C., as early as

this Friday, to meet with President Trump and sign the deal. Remember that the relationship

between these two men has been extremely acrimonious over the last

several days.

The US has not confirmed whether the terms of a deal have been agreed.
